Christmas marks the birth of Jesus, who Christians believe is the son of God. Hanukkah celebrates the rededication of the ancient Temple after a successful revolt by the Maccabees against both Greeks and other Jews who had defiled it.
The diverse ways that interfaith families celebrate the holidays certainly contribute to rich family experiences. Only some of them, though, provide rich religious experiences. And the evidence indicates that Americans want more, not less, religion in their lives."

According to MTV - there will be 2 new O.C. albums! And one of them - CHRISMUKKAH INDUCED!!!!

"We were watching the OC last night, Fox's latest teen angst hit, and suddenly realized that we were in the middle of a Half-Jewish moment. One of the teenage characters, Seth Cohen, the son of Sandy (Jew) and Kirsten (non-Jew), delivered a quite cogent explanation of Chrismukkah--a combination of Christmas and Hannukah that satisfies both religions."

"While quirky music plays, coastal scenes bring us to The Big House and a close-up of Seth's pensive face. As the camera slowly pulls away, he announces, 'So what's it gonna be, huh? You want your menorah or a candy cane? Hmmm...Christmas or Chanukah?' A wide-eyed Ryan stutters a complete lack of response, and Seth, wearing a Mr. Darcy sweater with reindeer on it, rushes to tell him not to worry about it, because 'in this house, you don't have to choose!' He continues, 'Allow me to introduce you to a little something that I like to call...Chrismukkah!' Mid-sentence, Seth turns to place the candy cane and menorah on the mantel to free his hands for the dramatic 'Chrismukkah' proclamation. Ryan hesitantly echoes, 'Chrismukkah,' as Seth decrees that it's the new holiday and is 'sweeping the nation.' From outside, Sandy's voice bellows that they got the tree; we see Kirsten and Sandy struggling through the door with it as Seth adds, 'Or at least the living room.'"

We received the following iCard from my own Chrismukkah pictures on jaybrewer.net!

"Chrismukkah is a trademarked word and must be removed from your site immediately. Regards, Chrismukkah.com"

First of all if you look them up on TESS, they do not even have a trademark filed. Secondly - you can't trademark a WORD like Chrismukkah especially when you got the domain on December 04, 2003 - after it aired on the O.C. which titled the episode, "The best Chrismukkah ever".

What's with people who do things like this? What do they have to gain? How about just being plain mean on a holiday that is supposed to be celebrated by uniting people. Here at Chrismukkah.org we believe that Chrismukkah is for everyone who wants to celebrate it - not just some lamo who wants to take it for themselves and for profit!!! Granted the O.C. portrays it in a very materialistic way, but you can celebrate it however you want. Join us in our effort to spread the word and ignore Chrismukkah.com and people like it who want to take away your Religious right to celebrate Chrismukkah!
